It's a nice looking mini for the price though .

OK Morris , what is the model from those numbers (I've never got the hang of Leyland numbers :( )

According to his numbers it is a Mini Sunshine :lol:

Or a Leyland Mini S. 8)

There never was a seperate code for the Sunshine, it was just a stock Mini S with a sunroof and stickers.

His numbers are 022x2s2m09/30216 which translates as
022 = Leyland Mini S
X = Compliance code (refers to ADR's)
2S = 2 door saloon (= Mini!)
2 = Trim level 2 (= better than 1 but not as good as 3 or 4.)
M = Manual transmission
09 = 998cc engine.

His engine number is 1015/10382 which would be an 1100 from 74.

It does look to me that it has had a quick coat of paint to hide some problems in order to sell it but really before anyone can sling mud you would have to inspect the car and go through any work done , see receipts etc.

I,m not going to give the guy a hard time for alleging it might be a Mini Sunshine that did,nt get a sunroof , by making that statement he immediately makes you re evaluate the car and his ownership.

He claims that his car is a Mini Sunshine without a sunroof due to a factory mistake.

So did they just pluck Mini S's at random to cut the roof out?

Obviously THAT one wasn't picked.

So does this mean my old Cooper S was an ex-police or race car because it wasn't picked? :lol:

So we should keep our mouths shut and possibly let some other Ausmini member buy this "rare" car thinking that it something that it isn't. :roll:

"A vigilante is someone who extralegally punishes a criminal, or participates in a self-appointed committee to mete out extralegal punishment to a criminal or criminals. "

If someone is selling something that's " Not-Quite-Right " , I have a right as a consumer to question the validity of the article or article's for sale. Any humour that becomes a byproduct of that line of inquiry is a bonus.
