Only three years on this one
...but I'm only able to keep one at time with my moving about the countryside every odd year :(

13 years for the last one, and 4 for the first.

Blue clubby 11 years.

White clubby van 5 years.

I have parts from my first mini from 15 years ago, does that count?

The old 850 has been with me since '06 and has always had the personality of his namesake and previous owner "Lou Martin". The old mechanic fella I got him from.

I got my van in '95 so 14yrs.
But as it's only been on the road since the end of '08 it's still yet to realy show it's true personality and as a result is only called the "Van mini" by the kids.
It's still trying to lose it's old image as the odd shape underneath the tarp at the back of the shed.

As for the Moke I got last month, that's still yet to be decided as what's going to happen there...

first part - I ahve owned the Mini Minor 20 years this December

second part - yes it has a personality, but it does not have a name. For most of the time that I have owned it, it has been red/white roof/black plastic flares, but last year I painted the roof and flares red as well. My wife came into the garage and said "that's not your car :( "

My first was a 72 Clubman, bought it as a 17th birthday present to myself 10 years ago! yikes .. although she's changed hands now and i've had minti (70 Mini K Van) and Sven (74 Van) for a year ... hopefully it's not another year before one gets going!

Had the latest one for about 5 months, my previous one i owned from when i was 15 until i was 19 (4 years). I dont suppose we count the shells on my parents land that have been there for almost 20 years!!! They were sad when i got them but are looking even worse now!!! Still very handy for bits and pieces though.

My car has no name but i have.(obviously!) I am still known as morrie or morris, a nickname i picked up for obvious reasons when i was an apprentice.

And my nieces now call me "Uncle Bean". Could be worse i guess! (I called myself much worse when i backed into my mini last week.....)

My Cooper S was my first car, it was purchased from Lanes Motors in Hartwell (Melbourne) on the 24/5/1973 for $1600 plus $31 for Stamp Duty, Registration charges, Third Party Insurance, Weighing, Plates and Delivery Fee (I still have the receipt as well as the car  ).
I was 19 at the time and that's a bit over 36 years ago
I've bought and sold many cars in the intervening years, including several Minis and Mokes, but always held onto this one. :D

I don't really own NAV so much as he allows me to spend large amounts of money on him to keep his company.

Having said that NAV's been with me for about 6 years now. Came close to parting with him once or twice. He just doesn't seem to want to leave.

Supermini has been with me for 18 years now. Had to front up to the local bank manger to get a personal loan to buy her. Now Supermini and I live in a shed together.

Curly, you are winning so far.

Issue 20 of TME we had a one-owner 1969 Cooper S and a one-owner 1964 Cooper - that has to be the winner for sure (just felt I had to speak up for the people not on Ausmini  )

OK, I've owned my Moke since 1982, but it was re-bodied in 1991 - so do you consider I have owned it for 27 years (as I do) or only 18 years?

I bought my 1976 Mini Van in 1996, so that's 13 years.

I may not have driven it across the world, but I reckon it's got to be the most widely-driven Mini in Australia.

Personality - the Moke is an extension of my personality (or maybe I'm an extension of it). The Mini is the perennial Aussie hard-worker (does that still exist). Works hard nearly every day, is often asked to do things well outside its comfort zone and rarely complains - but occasionally goes out on strike (like at the moment - replacing yet another head gasket. Gotta hate modern head gaskets.)

Cheers,
Watto.
