Took Ribena to a reputable repairer three days ago because I heard a leak in the extractors - needed a bit of a weld somewhere.

Picked the car up today and I'm not happy

1. The bonnet wouldn't close. I think some careless person opened the bonnet too far and effectively 'stretched' the hinges

2. It's still leaking.

As I was driving away, the boss was driving away in the other direction.

Needless to say, I will be taking it back and complaining like crazy. Jeez, when you pay $200 you expect the job done properly. For that sort of price, I could have a complete new system I would think. The one that's on is stainless so it's still in good condition - it's just the extractors that are getting a bit 'used' by now.

Not happy :x

so what did they repair mate?

if it was on part the manifold or the extractors yep you could buy them new cheaper.

same old crap though..

my dad tank had a hole needed a weld the guy wanted to acid clean it & weld it for 280 lol.

he could buy one new close to that.. so times it makes me wonder ;)

so what i have worked out shop around & ask how much to replace first then repair ;)

stumps them some times that's for sure

I had a hole in my extractors welded up the other day for $10 from the local exhaust guys! Mind you, I took the extractors of, and took them in and ground the weld down myself.....but if you want something done properly....do it yourself!

that's a sad point you make there.

Its a lot of worry when you are unable to pay someone to fix a problem so you don't have to stress about it.

No one cares anymore, they just want your money.

It's so true. Sucks but it really is. It's either easy done in 4 weeks to fix something then turns
Into 8 weeks.

Or fix it in 5mins want top dollar with poor rushed workmanship.

I would fully be hitting them up. Say welder charges 80 an hour that's like 2.5 hrs work.

You can weld a lot in 2.5hrs I would say. Keep in mind that would include him removing extractors
And exhasut if he needed to.

Quite correct - it did include taking them off and re-fitting BUT I had to provide my own gasket :) Ah well, things happen don't they.
