cleaned out the alloy rad in the turbo twinky moke,,, only a few rows clogged, was barely worth doing actually but now that we`re nearing completion of this thing i figured that it`s better to make sure now as it saves any question later

just setting up all the cam pulleys on the old girl now, should be all back together & running before i go on hols,,, BUT,,, i`m going to sort a Knock sensor to a light on the dash now,,, been bitten once so (hope) not to be bitten again :-)

I Took "AndyInParadise" for a spin in the small bore twinky today too,,, :-) hee hee

Measured the tread depth front vs rear, and discovered that 4000 miles has worn the fronts 1mm while the rears still have the moulding marks on the tread!

Pulled one side off to rotate them, and while torquing up the fronts discovered another frigging stud has stripped its splines and spun in its seat. It's a sod of a job getting them undone when this happens, although I seem to be getting practiced at it now

Fitted a new one and loctited it in, hopefully this one will stay put :x

Didn't actually do anything on the "FAX" but did drop in on TheMiniMan to have a chat about my suspension setup.

He took me for a spin in the small bore twinky.

OH MY GOD..... IT JUST KEEPS REVVING!!!!!!

Lots of fun.

Thanks Matt.

Finally got around to finishing putting the motor back together for the clubbie and putting it back in, start it up, tune, test run and then a wash before putting it to bed.

Starting sanding off the crappy cracked/peeling silver from the roof of the 1275LS to get a peek at what mysteries lie beneath.

And bought some wheels/trims for it .. so chuffed, something else of the long list of parts for restoration back to standard with another part coming up in 3.5ish days !

Sort of Mini related - I have a SIP150 MIG welder which on the whole is OK but when you get onto thin stuff it is very eratic at times. After reading in the MIG Forum it appears it is a well know problem with the SIPs and is linked to the fact the wire feed motor draws its supply from the main transformer and varies as the arc makes and breaks. A couple of people have developed a mod to rectify this problem so I been working on that to hopefully improve things before I get stuck into welding up the 'A' panel. - for those who are interested the MOD can be found here

I found a 24volt power supply in my box of bits and a spare 12v relay and away we go 8)
