I rarely use my wipers but driving home tonight I had to switch them on. They ran normally for around 5-10 minutes then they just slowed to a stop in a single swing :?
I had a quick look at the wiring and it looks ok so I was just wondering what things I should try first to get them going again?
This is my wiper motor, I believe early to mid 70's correct?

Pull it out - pull it apart - the grease has probably gone hard in the gears and along the drive tube - give it a good clean out and re-grease - and check the motor runs when there is nothing connected

Have a good look at the slip rings and contacts under the nylon drive gear. To do this, remove the circlip on the bottom of the mainshaft and lift the gear and shaft out.
If the rings are rusted away, Mini King has new ones. So does Convertible Mini on this forum.
They rust because water finds its way in there.... a smear of grease on them helps this, and they will still work.
