Un-locked my welded up distributor (!!!) put back into car, set timing at 28 degrees total and enjoyed newfound power and willingness to rev...will do until i get a pulsar distributor.

Secondhand pipe bending tool and new circlip pliers cheap from the local markets - score! At the rate I'm going they should come in handy in about 2-3 years from now

Took the mini for a drive around town to do some chores, handled the 35degree heat (yes in Ballarat!!) without an issue......unlike it's driver!

Still love the looks and smiles it gets.

So much smoother and responsive with the distributor advance working, just a hint of lumpyness at 2000rpm on cruise with the re13 cam, but MUCH smoother than previously! Now for a properly curved pulsar dizzy......

Gave it a head job... I mean I did a head job.... I mean I

I got all the spiders out of that head, tanked it and worked the intakes and exhausts. Rim flows due in about a week, then its time to skim and seat the sucker

Worked on the 'A' panel some more : finished off the repairs to the inner panel - painted the inner with Cold Galvit - ran some seam sealer over the areas that needed it and around the bolt holes as in the original - fitted and clamped the outer in place and started welding - every second 'spot weld' hole and some tacks down the door jamb. Getting late so called it a day - beside I had to let the fires die down

Dropped some brake lines off to get flared (off the front hubs-connection between cylinders and a couple off the rear wheels as well)

Finished off 90% of the A panel and welded up most of the door jamb edge - a second problem with the SIP brand of welders is that the more it is used the speed control circuit heats up and the feed gets faster - so I had to keep stopping and letting it cool down otherwise it blew holes (only small ones  ) Should have it all finished next shift.
