Um, A$34K is a lot, but hey, if this is the deal described it could be a modest price.

If not for my garage issues (read the Missus!), I would have a crack.

I hope the price includes some window wipers!

Its a shame the seller didn't use the word "mini" in the item title. It will effect the search results.

It seems like a nice car from the limited photos that have been posted. Worth the asking price? I would think so, going by the sellers description. The prices of S's are on the up. As you can see by the examples below asking prices are easily hovering around 30k+ at the moment.

they may be hovering but thats what they will do .
hover, and hover and hover.
asking a price and getting it are 2 different things.

Yes I agree, but if the average asking price is on the up so is the average price paid.

In my opinion some of those examples I posted are too high for what is on offer, but in general the prices are on the up. I can recall 4 cars in the last three or four months which have sold for between 28k and 35k, none of which where truly concours cars. As interest in these cars increases, the level of investment into restoration is moving on to the next tier, hence higher quality cars, higher asking prices, higher average prices paid etc.

I sent the seller a lengthy email via eBay asking for more information as part of my continuing research into the technical aspects of Police Minis. I was up-front in saying I wasn't a potential buyer, unless Lotto favoured me in the next few days! No response to date. That's why I asked in the first post of this thread if the seller was on Ausmini.

I'm particularly intruiged by the sellers' statement: Full engine rebuild to original police specifications. I've discovered a lot in the last two years about MK II S's built to SPO41 so I would've liked to have seen an engine bay photo. I don't dispute any of the claims in the advert but, like Ballistic it would be nice to have more evidence presented in the public domain rather than having to satisfy some 'genuine buyer' assessment before that information is released by the seller.

If I was selling such a (genuine) vehicle I would supply as much info as possible to get the most interest, most bids, and best price.

The seller of the car that Winabbey bought was very helpful and supplied good information (yes I was very tempted) and that's why it was sold for what I reckon was a good price for both parties.

We'll see (said the blind man)...........each to their own.........
