1.1 inches increase in diameter equals an extra 13% in swept area. And for that money, I would but them!

I think I have figured out how to put pics in here, if so folowing are some of, (actually all of) the minis I had in the 1970's.....
Image
I think I got it, the red mini is a 1962 model I think, bloody awful single leading shoe brakes but the previous owner threw a Morris 1100 motor and gearbox into it, luckily it was so undergeared as a result it valve bounced at about 145km in top gear, and didnt stop at all

Image

This one is a 1968 genuine English works Cooper S, as run in the NZ Heatway International Rally. I was the third owner and it was a rocket in its time, was always good for a top 10 finish, even with me driving.

Thats enough pics for today, 2 more to come yet.
Sorry about the quality but they are scans of old photos.

Ok, now for the last 2 pics from the dark ages...
Image
The yellow mini is the same car as the blue one shown previously... but this is after straightening it out from a rollover in a gravel rally... time for a tart up and I reckon it came up pretty good. it was sold not long after and no doubt someone else got to have a heap of fun in it.

Image
This was also a purpose built rally car, was bloody fast, great for rallycross, and just a heap of fun in all sorts of club events.

So there ya go, that was how I spent my money and time in the "70's. Now watch for the new toy, I have not been putting much time in lately but will be getting fired up again to get things ticking over.
Cheers all

Ok so now I got the pics sorted I have started to take more.. I have spent a heap of time trying to position the Toyota column and controls to best effect, here is where I think it will finish up... fairly vertical wheel and a bit further back to give me good leg room and the wheel a bit closer to my chest to get the best leverage. I am not sure I can get it this vertical as I have not checked the uni angles, I think I am close to maximum, if so, I think I can do a couple of things to sort it... more on that later.
All comments appreciated!!!

Your certainly over engineering your seat!

Yep, thats the one, will throw the pics back up one day of the subframe again.

The seat is a touch firm and a wee bit heavy but I am working on that... by the way, your bum is 4" above floor level to get everything positioned right.

Hi all,

After 18 months of slackness the build is resuming, I have been getting my shed organised and doing bits and pieces on the body, while the time of the build is way out, at least it is back on track.... I have just driven 2000km on NZ country roads and it reminded me of why I must complete this project. Not sure of the timing of the finish, it should be around 12-18 months from now, but work keeps me away from the shed a lot. Unfortunately chasing the buck is a priority these days... never mind, I am motivated as hell now and with some external encouragement I will achieve the goals.

Cheers all
Michael
