9½ years - been a long 'couple of months' to get the brakes fixed so I can get a roadworthy to register it

Is that really true?! So when do you think you will get it on the road?
That day will be worthy of a great celebration!

A woman that I know in the USA has owned her MG1100 since new in 1962. She went to a car show and they had a prize for the longest owned car. She lost to a bloke that got his car a few weeks earlier!

3rd Mini over last 18 odd years.

EDIT:
1976 Leyland Mini 998cc, smashed into gutter and detroyed both subs
1974 Leyland Mini 998cc, rolled over top of a BMW 535i and wrote both cars off.
1975 Leyland Mini S 1098cc, rebuilt recently first 500kms in Brisbane and the next 11,000 through five states and now in Alice Springs.

Had 4 Rovers and one 79` 998 over the last 13 years....longest i kept one was about 3 years so nothing special but I did buy my 98 Rover new and got to pick everything from the cataloge and then get a call from Rover saying its ready. Even saw them unload it and take the plastic covering off the seats and hand me the keys ( and a bill for 18k approx ) and I drove it off the lot with 1 Mile on the clock ! Was pretty special moment...then came the rust....and more rust.... :D :D .....but I drove it all around Europe include non stop from my home in Amsterdam to Italy for IMM ! Attended Mini 40 in it....It was a quick Mini too !

My wife had her 92 Rover Mayfair from November 2003 til Sept 2005 when we left the UK. Drove all round europe in it. It was called 'Amy' (named after the gorilla in 'Congo', don't ask)

Then I had a 86 Austin Mayfair from Dec 03 to May 04 when i skidded to avoid a deer (still hit the deer) and rolled it onto the roof - write-off. Didn't drive it enough to give it a name.

Then in haste I rushed out and bought my current car in July 2004 - 1990 Rover Cooper RSP - so that's been over 5 years now. Tried giving it a couple of names but none took hold - Lurch was the main name as my wife didn't like the jerkiness of the drive after her auto Mayfair.
