Thanks guys, I was told by a few people that in order to get it apart I need a special service tool??... and that i was better off to send it away. Have bought all the replacement parts new already. Maybe i should give it a go... whats the worse that can happen right?
I think that the "special tool" does not like working on automatics. 8)

The book lists one tool for holding the forward clutch while you remove/install the end cover and another tool/jig for lining up the oil pipes when installing the cover.
I used a screwdriver to do the first job and a bit of cardboard for the second job.

 I love it! This is the sort of awesome advice/inspiration i needed! Thanks heaps fellas :)

If you want help I am just a PM away.

I have a spareparts autobox in the shed. If you want any photos to show how it is done it would be quite easy to arrange.

Well, it's official - I'm dumb.

I still can't access my own account.

Maybe I'm typing in my user name or password wrong. Is it case sensitive?

Brett, can you PM my account details so I can try again?

Cheers,
Watto.

Its one of those annoying forums where you have to join just to have a look. I hate them, it could be full of child porn or stupid people. And anyway I'm not THAT interested in automatics, although I wouldn't mind a bit of a look.

Its a bit like having a high fence around your yard, very impolite.

Tim

OK, I'm On. :D

Seems the site couldn't handle the Mac, so I've logged on using my old toy computer - I mean my PC (watch for the bites).

I've sent a PM to the admin to see if they will let me mention the mag (Used you for a reference Brett. Hope that is OK.) After all, there are plenty of mentions for the two UK mags, so it shouldn't be out of the question.

Anyway, the forum looks quite good and will be a good source of info on the matics, and good for matic owners to chat to other like-minded souls from around the globe - without the usual trashing of the auto that goes on in a lot of places.

Well, I don't have an auto Mini, but I do appreciate them for what they are.

By the way, I just love their selection of emoticons, especially the Mexican Wave.

Cheers,
Watto.

Yes, they changed that after it was established. I'm not overly impressed about it myself, just quietly. If it was up to me I'd keep only some sections visible to members eyes only.

The forum is going well though. It seems there are a lot of closet Auto fans out there and we have had contact from KAD and other Mini-based businesses who want to explore possibilities of hotting up the Auto. So it's looking really good!

Yep, that's totally fine. I already informed them who you are. It's definitely not out of the question. No response yet on why it does not work with Macs yet though.

Cheers,
