Hi Everyone,

I have a Lucas 15AC alternator, it has three spade connectors. One is + one is IND and the other is AUX+

It works great, but I was tidying up the wiring and noticed that the wire connected to the AUX+ goes to no where. Some foolish mini specialist (I won't name which of the Sydney ones it is) wired it this way. The wire they had connected to it is actually for the temp sensor.

My question is.....is there meant to be a wire connected to the aux+ and where should it go.

Cheers

No idea but it's not used on a Mini.

I belive the 2nd large terminal is for voltage senseing that the thinner brown wire is connected to on a clubman, the other end of the wire is bolted under the battery cable on the solenoide. BUT if you look in the back of the alternator you will usually see that the 2 terminals are joined together so it is really useless. On other leyland cars eg Triumph it may of served a purpose but it doesnt seem do anything on a mini.

Ryan is talking about the spare `aux' one, used on the old 15AC, not on the 16ACR you describe.
Often there is no spade in the hole, anyway.
