they look good but 10 coats of paint and 5 of clear is asking for trouble down the track im affraid.. at the most you would need maybe 3 coats of base and 1 dust coat of clear then a final "gloss" coat.

i paint my porsche 944 superlites fairly regularly and the process i use is,

paint stripper, then give them a good clean with thinners, then a single good coat of primer and a then wet on wet with (for silver) ppg fine silver tinter or (for charcole) ppg course silver with as much black as you like to get the desired effect.

the problem with wheels is if you overload them with material the heat and stress they are under all the time will eventually force the paint to flake!

I did use acrylic, not enamel.

If I have issues down the track, then I can redo them (and learn from it). It's wasn't a huge amount of effort since I had all the gear at home.
