My question is to do with timing. I am trying to figure out the impacts of the cam and ignition timing if they are out as at the moment the engine is overheating and I believe that to be a timing issue and it was brought up in my other thread about the exhaust wrap. How can you tell from just a video of the engine idling that it is out of timing and needs a tune? So my untrained eyes and ears it all sounds normal.
So what are the sure signs of incorrect timing?
The car is sluggish off the line and backfires, also when at cruising speed I then put it into neutral to come to a stop it sometimes stalls.
I have changed the needle in the carby but is it still running too lean? Needle from the top of my head is BCF.
Help much appreciated. I think I bit more then I can chew with this one
