hey my R1 powered hillclimb special has been painted... all sand blasted & professionally etch primed & 2-pak painted now.

seems we`re both showing some progress now ey Tricky???

maybe by the time we`re 80 years old we could actually have them completed & driving :-)

You haven't said what colour you're painting it yet right?

I hope it's not going to be metallic blue. As then my car would look like a dodgy copy of yours. :)

You better be wrong or I will be raging!

<edit> Except I won't be using that shade but similar none the less, and Tricky does have a spoiler anyways so I guess they'll look a bit different

I have always liked the Subaru WRX Blue - its a very nice, bright colour.

I think someone else on here (or maybe two people) have done their Mini's the same metallic blue as well. Its very popular.

Yeah I agree.

I'm doing it because I'm going to use part of my original interior which is black and blue, it's a 998 LS. Which was light metallic blue but light blue is not for my tastes.

Anyways I remembered, I'll have a black vinyl roof like original too so it will look different so that's alright. Anyways it'll unique here in SA regardless of what's going on in the east. :P

Just a really quick update.

Finally finished the boot off with a the mounting of the surge tank and pump, in a slightly different position than previous, a bit more forward.
Image

Also, made a mounting tab up for the charge inlet pipe to the turbs as it needed a bit more support.

I will finish the engine bay off completely through the week and then it will be time for disassembly once again.

Cheers,
Tricky
