When were handbrake boots first fitted to the Mini as a standard item? I could be wrong but I don't remember my MK II S having one when I purchased it new in 1969, but the 1970 MK II S I now have has one.

They were fitted to the later cars. I know that the 1275LS came with them. I don't know when they started fitting them.

My 1970 has one. I know the interior is original (and yes, it's stuffed!) and it has a vinyl boot. I'll check the build date.

I asked the same question a while ago and general consensus was no, they didn't originally have them.

I am trying to remember my own 1970 model, but that was a long, long time ago......

I was thinking they might have had it though....my car was original and was only 6 years old at the time........
