I'm not bothered by the kits, but those low profile tyres are ridiculous. Designed for children who've reached driving age, they must be do dreadful things to the ride and handling. They just say "My car is more about looks than performance, so it makes sense I have a stupid plastic bodykit too."

The silver MINI with the dish plate wheels looks rediculous....Man I hate those wheels...on any car!!! They never did look good and never will so don't bother putting them on your car.


Oh, the body kits are alright, usually I don't like kits, but my Starlet Mini project has a body kit so I suddenly have to pretend to like them. Mines for performance though..sort of, it's to cover up the huge front mount intercooler. Unlike these kits which are solely for looks.

Completely agree. It goes against the theory behind alloys, too. In that, originally, they were meant to reduce weight (though that's not always been the case). They don't look like intelligent, clean engineering - function providing good form. Which is more often than not the way the best looking outcome are achieved. All they say to me is 'I don't want everyone to see I'm running tiny, base-model brakes - maybe even rear drums!'
And super low profile tyres? Why pay so much more for so much less ride comfort, and so much higher a likelihood of having a pothole destroy your tyres..?

IMO tyres are getting so low profile with so little air in, it won't be long before we're back to the early 1900s and solid rubber tyres..
Wooden spoke wheels, anyone??

Anyways, what I really meant was that it's got the go to go with the show anyways. So it's not just for looks, it's to conceal (in an odd, round about, not-full-on-ricey way of doing it).
