Well the first coat came up ok. Few runs and drips but they are mostly hidden under the car anyway.

One thing I did learn. BMC welders seem to have thrown the welds on from about 2 metres +/-. There are runs, splatters, holes. The welds are shocking. Not up to the usual MIG welding I have seen.

Next job: second coat then fit up rear subframe.

Looks like you've done a really good job of painting that.....especially for doing it with a wooden spoon!

Wooden spoon AND a file - if you don't mind.

It's a old but well trusted painting technique...

p.s. with KBS paint I just threw away cheap brushes after use. Its toooooo hard to clean off anything even with the correct thinner. Hands still look like the back of a Dalmation!

How long did that take you to a single coat on each subframe?

Good question - I didn't time it but probably a couple of hours.

Did it on Saturday afternoon between lunch and afternoon tea (bit of a win - wife brought me out a coffee and scones - lovely woman :D ).

So a few hours would be right.

Ah, but I'm a bit older and from the nethanderal generation.

I have no idea what an iron is, where the washing machine is (or what the hell it does), how a dishwashing machine turns on OR what that funny looking object in the kitchen is that gets hot in the middle and has fire on top. :D

But I'm an expert on beer fridge operation and how to fix and build anything. I can start a fire from rubbing sticks together and I can guddle for trout.

Remember the Billy Connolly observation: "Grandad, how many sugars do you take in your tea? No idea, ask your Gran."

Such a sad state of affairs today with all those SNAGS.... :D
