Maybe I should put a pool in instead????

You've got A/C... :? As someone who bought a house with A/C and a pool... I wouldn't. :? Unless you're someone who really enjoys swimming, don't. When you're sitting inside with the A/C on (watching your plasma, coldie in hand), unless you're a swimmer, you're not likely to think about how nice and warm it is outside and how much you'd enjoy cooling off. Because you're already cool. Pools just cost money. I drive my Mini very, very rarely. It's not easy to get at, and I don't go out often (work from home). But I use it heaps more than my pool - I don't think I've been in it for at least 2 years! Because I'm in the A/C - already cool.

I've not owned one, but a boat could be the only thing that's a bigger money drain for the effort... But at least getting rid of the boat doesn't require you to sell the house - you might even get something back for it. Unless you're Mini Maxx, and you tell everyone how much you hate it. :P

Or... You could buy a cheap old 4WD and go offroad in it. I know that wouldn't follow your usual style of uber-clean and well presented street cars, but it's certainly something different...

Or, given you enjoy the tinkering more than the driving, do more work on cars for mates. Like the photos you posted on here a while ago. Just ask for more for your efforts... That way, you still get to tinker, but you're not stuck with the bills, and another asset/toy that you don't use but have to find room to store.

What to do what to do........ I NEED a muscle car....

Do I:

Try and sell the Mini which would make sense in terms of $$$ and space. What would I even get for the thing???????

It almost seems that a rego'd "kinda rough round the edges" Mini goes for around $6-8k? Then a fairly tidy one might be advertised for about $12k. There dosnt seem to be a great deal of variance in the price between "rough" and "tidy"....?

Or get the house re-evaluated and borrow more against it to fund the project...??? Just gotta try and afford the increased repayments....

I see this next car as an investment that I will hold onto, but know that it will be worth money in the future.

Sell the mini. If you don't drive it what's the point. You won't get nearly what you have spent but that is the way with most cars, especially if you don't do all the work yourself. Learn from this and try to drive and enjoy the next one more.

By a Muscle Car. You'll love it.

"I see this next car as an investment" Don't make this mistake. It's a car not an investment.
