ok i am after a good colour for my clubbie.
so far ive been tossing up the idea of very dull metalic silver roof with a flat light blue body?? i want the car to have a retro look but still that classic taste.......anyway and ideas for a good job/colours :) what do you have??
Cheers

are you doing it yourself or professionally? metallics apparently are hard to lay down properly unless you know what your doing.
be mindful if you are doing a colour change that you will have to do all the little nooks and crannys otherwise your gunna see the old paint scheme = time, which = money

simple is always best, bright solid colours always look nice, as above i wouldnt go painting serious metallics and pearls if not being done proffesionally but then again you might be doing that.. ive always liked dark silvers / gun metal colours (just never had a car straight enough to paint one that way) deep blues look nice on minis too

for me a clubbie always looks good in bright solid red with black plastic arches,

or kermit green (super retro) with leyland s flares

hi-ho silver is another great one

i also think clubbie's look best all one colour (roof same) (and before people jump on me for my avatar pic.... mine is actually a roundie that happens to have clubbie rear lights.....)

What colour is the interior? If it's black, paint the roof black to tie in with interior, and then pretty much any colour will go with the black roof. Orange or green would be pretty cool.

or reversal of those... ie orange with brown roof etc..

Usually when I get this question, an idea I throw back is............

When confectionry companies, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Alans, Schewpes etc. package a product, they have a team of hamsters that study the impact of colours on the human emotion. So, they spend big bucks figuring out what colour scheme to use, so that people will look at it and go "Hmmmm, I'd like to put that in my mouth"...

But it doesn't end with food. Movie posters are the same, so are condom packets, you name it. Its a big part of marketing.

I say, copy a colour scheme of a product that you like... that way, everytime you look at your mini, you will look at it, and feel all warm and fuzzy about it....

So I say.....

Nipple pink :)

britax-cooper yellow and black
gulf blue and organge

what other period racing colour schemes were there?

personally i'd love to do a medium dark almond green.. with flourescent red grill surround, and japanese angry-eye head light covers and black grp 2 arches...

similar to this Aston DB9

edit: oops wouldnt work on a clubman though sorry!

That looks awesome!

Bummer about the ripple in there rear quater panel, and the door :?

Have you got a Gun Metal Grey picked out yet? Micowen's doing an 850 in gun metal grey, so we've been chatting about that, and I think he's still got all the codes and samples out if you wanted to probe him?

hehe yer the one on my Alfa75...My van is in 2pac purple so I have to stick with it for the time being but I have a couple of other ideas to bring out a bit more
