Make sure the cap and rotor is OK, if they're worn you can get new ones from Repco, Auto One, Pep's etc.

went to pick and payless tday all the pulsars were raided but there were 4 astras with there distributors all d4r83 except one which was a d1414 or sumthin

got the distributor and coil and cool 8mm red leads for $40 :)

i think cause i said it was a astra one i got it cheaper
mine was of a manual but was the d4r83 any 8ideas??? :?

Whether it's an 83 or 85 doesn't really matter, either will perform better than any old POS Lucas one. :wink:

were does the vacume advance tube go as my old distibutor had no advance. also the wire near the advance with the condeser is that the same wire as the single on off my old distributor :? :?

cant wait to get it on :)

If the SU carby has a tiny connector on front of it put a hose on there, if not just leave it. If you have Weber or Dellorto, leave it- there's nowhere to connect.

It's an economy device, nothing more. When the pedal is to the metal, the vacuum advance does SFA. 8)

That condenser is just a radio suppressor. Bin it. Not needed. 8)

ok this is started to make sence now but one last question how do you know when piston 1 is at top dead centre

my dad said take out a plug and shine a touch in but whats the best :) way
