I am doing a Starlet GT (4EFTE) engine conversion when I found this problem, however it is an issue which I'm sure someone has faced at some point.
I found a big difference between the holes / mounting points on the orginal valance panel versus the replacement valance panel (for a Clubman). In the pic below (of the inside of the front valance panel - passengers side) the original subframe mount is the lower hole however in the replacement panel, this is a much larger hole in the same location!
Why the difference? Was there ever a change on the method or location of bolting in the subframe? I'm not using the original subframe for my conversion but for anyone who buys this panel as gets it welded on, how do you bolt the subframe back in?
