is the rest original? if it is completely original leave it that way, if not, then do some mods that can be rectified later on, for future owners or if you want a change.

My 2c.

If it is a 'collectable car' like a MKI Cooper S then it should be restored to factory specs.

If you what something to modify or play around with, get a 'low value mini' (deluxe, clubbie what ever) - no disrespect and play around with that.

The 'collectable' types are getting too rare to mess up.
