I require some measurements of the correct position of the boot badge on a Mk 1 Cooper S, A measurement from the top of the number plate panel would be helpful ?

Thanks

paul

BTW: Badges on the MK2's are in the same position.

It would be worth getting the measurements off one if you can. They don't have to be out by much to look really wrong. Lots of replicas have them too high.

Pretty sure 'winnabey' did some thorough measurements of these. There was another thread too, I will find the link, it had pictures as well.

I think my boot lid is original. It is blasted at the moment. Would measuring the holes help?

Perhaps place a piece of white thin cardboard on the outter skin of the boot where the holes are, mark them from the inside of the boot lid, then you will have a template you could pass on to people?

OK, withdraw that. Point was .... is it an S? Maybe I have missed why you need the data. Are you re-skinning the bootlid?

Because Minis are vulnerable to a 'kick up the backside' and non-S bootlids may be all that's available. In fact, if you ordered a boot lid as a spare part back in the 70's did you have to specify the model it was for, or were they all the same and simply come without any badge holes?
