Galv'd body, late model (latest?) with the nice column, heater & side screens.
Definitely worth a gander.

Well all mokes are californian mokes, nobody ever purchased or owned a bog standard one,

Its the same as the mini's everybody has owned a cooper s, once again no one has ever had a 850 or a deluxe and all the leyland and clubmans & rovers are not real mini's.

And out of all the 7,500 cooper s models manufactured, there is still 10,000 plus of them still on the road and in sheds under restoration.

So how do we know. ?????

With the California stickers, Cooper S badges etc etc all freely available it seems that is all true. Some may argue it adds to the fun and mystery of determining what is kosher & what is fake. Clearly, the concept of caveat emptor has never been more important.

Yes, but it probably has the customary oversized cannon mufflers and "slammed" springs (of course matched to standard shocks) installed.

I've never owned a cooper or a clubby GT.
I do on the other hand own an 850 and a deluxe.

I am so sick of people asking if my Moke is a Californian. :x

I don't like Sunraysia wheels or Cali bumpers anyway. I prefer the straight blade bumpers and my Hotwires.

I have the opposite problem. Any number of know it all's come up to me and say "But its not a real Californian is it". Then they usually start rabbiting on about it having to have a 1275, disk brakes and galvanised body.

Luckily in '77 the compliance plate said "Moke Californian".
