I checked my un-official records of Mark 1 cars - closest known car that still exists that I could find was car # 1066 which is a burgundy red body colour, toga white roof with maroon unholstery engine # 9F/Sa/Y 39676, delivery date circa April 1966.

Seems to me these real early cars are pretty thin on the ground.

Sorry, can't help any further.

There is a 1966 model not far from my place has been off the road for 20 years plus.
body number 1788 engine number 41713 toga white, special burgandy red roof, red trim and carpets.its like new

wiper motor 6/66, fuse block 2/66 and still has the origional black and whith rego plates.
the car is in extra good condition, however its not for sale.

I have been asking the owner every time I see him for the past 22 years

one day he may change his mind

The thing that amazes me is there are plenty of people willing to let a Cooper S rot away before letting someone else restore it!! Stay on to him.

Yesterday, our pest inspector saw my minis and told me that a guy in Newport (near Bilgola) has a beautiful Cooper S but has to get rid of it.....thought I might get a lead for someone and then saw this post......

Looks fantastic.... off to buy some lotto
