put on my new grille and moustache. Realised how out of alignment the body work on the front of my car is.

Fitted new bonnet straps.

Patched some rust on the sill of the Estate. It really needs a new sill and floor but it's going to the engineer tomorrow to get certified for the adjustable suspension.

Dropped a good 1 piece 1098 crank into Gafmo's motor, replacing his 2 piece one.

yep as Dr has mentioned, Crank in and moves freely and also got the block on the box but didn't get much further as their is to much play in the idle gear . Then gave the engine bay a quick clean and cleaned up two radiators.
I then had two Visitors from the forum, we did have a interesting chat
hmm they don't like small bores and gave me some good insight on two body work and paint.
Thanks heaps for the Carpet also, more than I expected 8)

Heres a fill in till the other thread is located.

Over the past few days i have replaced the head gasket and studs, put new wheel bearings in the rear and raised it about 1 inch all round, heaps nicer to drive now 8)
The photos are very deceptive, i'm actually taller than that

Shortened the rear suspension struts and made a sliding collar up that will hold spacing colletts in place. That way, I can add or remove spacers to adjust the ride height and firmness by removing the rear wheel, nothing else.

Removed the doors on the Estate and attended to the rusty spots including one door which had completely rusted out on the bottom behind the rubber seal. Treated the rest of the rust and applied a skim of body filler to sand this afternoon. Hopefully paint & back on the car in the weekend.

I gave mine its first oil and filter change after putting the new motor in (500miles in 4 months, that's a poor effort on my behalf). Then I drove it back to the engine builder to give it some fine adjustments (head, tappets, mixture) and he also replaced the bush in the bottom of the gearstick so it doesn't rattle as much. I think I will need to drop the remote shifter out and inspect it, as it is still rattling a bit.
