From this article on the AutoExpress.co.uk site. Not entirely sure why I'm posting this other than it makes for an interesting photo.

Apart from the name, it doesn't really have much of a resemblance...even including the fact that its namesake is a variant on a van...
It could confused with a big wheeled Dihatsu of some sort from that angle.

It's a bit comical when you look at them like that.

Odd thing is that at 4.11 metres, it's still quite a small car, 20cm shorter than a Focus/Mazda3/Astra/Golf etc

The countryman looks horrendous. If I need 4 doors I'm going back to a Swift Sport.

Just noticed, unlike the other cars it doesn't have frameless doors. Wonder why that is?
:?

I'd be interested in seeing how many components this "Countryman" shares with the standard BINI.. probably has more in common with an X1 and or X3. Mini is no longer an icon, it's purely a marketing term.

Just thinking, why call this the Countryman and the MINI wagon the Clubman?
It would be more accurate to call the wagon a Countryman and this fugly abomination the Clubman.

Thats all its ever been since 2000. BMW never cared they just wanted to strangle all the dollars they could out of it.

Not quite sure how that resembles a countryman? but yuk

I think if they kept the Clubman version and just put a back rear opening door on BOTH sides like the RX8 used to be, it would have been more widely accepted. I wanted to get the Clubman (always wanted a new BINI but a wagon) but the idea of getting out on the road side.......... PASSSSSSS

Ended up getting a Suzuki SX4....

I like the idea of the 4 doors though.... i dont like the "we want to make this car look like a hermaphredite on steroids" front end though....
