The Mini I bought for a resto ('78 Clubman) had no heater parts with it but I have pulled out the heater from a Clubbie which had been sitting out in a paddock for a few years. Amazingly the fan still works and the matrix has been given to a radiator shop to get it rodded out & tested. I have also ordered a universal heater tap to replace the one that is completely corroded and ceased. All brackets have been removed (rivets drilled out), sanded and repainted.
This is the heater as removed (click for bigger pic) :
However...
I need to know what the air direction flap needs to get refurbished (what does a new one look like?) and whether it's possible (and how) to remove the flap from the casing?
Also - what "goo" do I use to seal the two halves back together? Is had some kind of black rubberised sealer when I took it apart.

I also blame my Dad for me being 6' 1" - not really the optimum height for driving a Mini.
