Nice find.
The car number 8112 is the Oz number the number preceding that number on the plate is the UK kit number and can be used to obtain a Heritage Certificate. It is normal for these early cars to have both numbers stamped on the body. On mine the UK number is to the left of the speedo hole and the OZ number on the right (same as this car).
You most likely will also find the Oz number on the rear floor section directly behind the driver's seat.
You will find many differences between this car and the Australian built cars.
Love the original colour!!!

Mine has the double number of a kit car - wrote for a Heritage Certificate and was told they did not have the records for exported kits :cry:

Cheers for the response guys... yeah definately sounds like it will be good to see it outa all the grass etc... Not sure what the floors are like... probably knackered I'm thinking... so might not be able to save than number on the rear floor pan! Time will tell!

Lets just hope we dont upset too many snakes digging it out!

Yes simon, it has a coventry radiators tag on it, but it is on the other side attached to the core in the top front of the core.
Trevor at 59 reg has identified it as a very early mini possibly fitted to a 59 to early 60 car, but he has only seen pics of them.
So your guess is as good as anyone's. It was in my 60 car complete with the one piece cowl. This is the problem I am having in sorting out all the bits that do not add up.
