Theres your problem right there...! When I was running those rubbish tyres, my 1330 A Series would spin them up so easily. Now that Im running Dunlop D01J semis, I can barely get it to spin at all.

A539's are a pretty good tire IMO...maybe because you left them for so long on the car without driving it they went hard? :P

i liked the 539 alot for the road and in the wet especialy. But on the track they grained up really quickly.

the dunlop semi slicks are dangerous when cold, i went into turn 1 at mallala and understeered straight off
on a road car thats not what you want, you'd fall straight off the road. In the wet they were frighteningly bad.

i've got toyo semi slicks on my colt ralliart and they are much better, work when cold and go alright in the wet.

I have seen some very hot 1380's (full race spec) and they do 0 -100 in the 7 second range and 15 sec quarter mile. I would be surprised to see better than that in a road registered car with radial tyres.

True..?

I was so glad to get rid of my A539's. I dont really push the car hard when and if I drive it, but the dunlops are just so much more of a positive feeling tyre. Ive never had any understeer issues with them ever. My car feels very neutral when and if I push it. But my main point I was bringing up, was that from a standing start, the A539s would just tyre spin off the line something terrible, but the Dunlops just hook up and go.

Maybe it just because my car just has less power now.........??

My thought is an Evo powered mini. But with the thought of a mid mount AWD, don't know how yet though :? .

Thats easy, evo/wrx running gear and stick another idler gear in the gearbox/diff and make it normal.

There's another WRX conversion on the UK Mini forums which I can't find right now.

My WRX does it in 4.9 seconds , basically standard with a few minor mods . None of my minis are even close to that , so it would have to be a very very much modified mini to even go under 10 seconds .....It would either have to have extensive modifications , an engine transplant or setup for drag racing , which makes most unsuitable for road use anyway ....... dream on

Once again, are we discussing 0-60kph or 0-60mph?

Given this is ausmini.com and everybody who has posted is from Australia, I think we can pretty safely assume it's kph.

dunno - why would you discuss the 0-60kph time, when the figures quoted for any other car in australia or any other part of the world would be the 0-100 time?

Sorry - brain fart - I actually meant exactly twhat you say. :? We talk kph in Oz so therefore I assume 0-60 talk would be mph.
