 Post subject: upper control arm

If a front subframe gets bent very obvious and the tower where the cone and the upper control arm goes looks undamaged will the upper control arm be ok. I do have others, swapping hilos cones etc to a better subframe

Difficult to answer 100% correct without comparing / measuring against another, however they are very stout items and would be fairly difficult to bend.

I'd be really surprised to see a bent top arm unless the car was a tangled mess. They're very strong.. much more so than the rear trailing arm which bend if you shout at them loud enough :lol:

I agree it's unlikely the UCA is bent. But if your subby has taken a savage hit, chances are your geometry is all out of whack and alignment/tracking may be hard to get right. or to put it another way, your UCA is probably very perfectly excellent, its just in the wrong damn place!

cheap enough to replace anyway or at least get it crack tested with die penetrant and measured against a known good one ....
