The maximum towing weights are according to the handbooks...

Van - 6cwt = 302.4kg
Sedan - 8cwt = 406.4kg

Here's a few pics I just took of the towbar on my van out the back shed. i'll let you decide how it mounts etc. I've only ever driven the van- I've never done any work on it yet, so have no idea how it was originally fitted.
NB: it currently doesn't have towball or the extra piece with it.

looks like it's bolted through the valance as well.

no idea if they're any good to you, but they're here anyway - in JUMBO size :)

that's a HUGE help mate. It's not welded to the fuel tank is it? Surely not?? Is that just rubber spacing to stop it hitting it? Do you know if the 2 bolts that go up through the valance go up into the floor? Can you see any bolts on the top of your floor that would be the tow bar bolts?

had a look and found four bolts.

the two near the back were round headed, don't know if they have a proper name
also two about in the middle of the floor. The van is currently my Mini spare seat storage, so i couldn't get very good photos.

i'm pretty sure it'd be only rubberish stuff on the fuel tank...

sorry, not very good pics again. it was getting dark and as I said, theres Mini seats living there :)

cheers

yeah.... it was in a fairly dark shed when we bought it... when it was out and we had a good look it wasn't as neat as we thought (the mini).
it's had a few weird things done to it
apparently the owner before the man we bought it from had taken it in for a trade in and they just laughed at her (this is ~12 years ago), i now know why!

i had hopes of restoring it down the track.... but it the job seems to get bigger ever time i look at it as i see more things

who knows what they towed with it
