I looked at this car when it was for sale, I still have pics of it. My pics look a bit more green, if you want to see these pm me your email address.

I restored one a few years ago that won RACQ restored car of the year in 98. Of all the cars I have had I wish I had kept that one. Belonged to JRA managing director or some similar job description. I bought it as part of a divorce settlement from the original owner in 91. I restored it to absolute concourse condition, then I got board of not being able to drive it in the rain etc so on sold it. It spent the next 10 years in some guys rumpus room with a Brock Magnum Statesman. He onsold it about 5 years ago, but I just didnt have the cash to buy it back. Think I may try to track it down. What an exceptional colour. At the time nobody liked it, but in hindsite I would have it back today if I could :(

Thers's a Cooper S in at Link being assembled thats in this colour in 2 pack. I think it looks great. I am biased though as the Mk 2 S i just bought is originally Tamarisk Green. Its currently in Viagra Blue :) but after reading all the coments here Im definitely bringing it back to original, sooner rather that later. Dont know about gorgeous though Simon..... I keep adjectives like that for more fleshy opposite sex types....

nah, I'd say it's lighter, and a bit grey-er

side by side they'd be quite different

Hi, I also have a February, 1970 Mk II Cooper S in Tamarisk Green that I have owned since 1983. Unfortunately, I badly damaged it in 2006 and am in the process of rebuilding it. I don't know if it was a Police special - it had differently lights on the dash (an extra one). I know there was a Coates from Brisbane in Tamarisk Green. Ours originally came from NSW and we live in Nanango, Qld. Tony.

that's a good sign... check the loom for reversing light switch wiring going to the passenger side of the gearbox and two wires going to the indicators at the back...
