As a matter of interest, a few of us gave our Minis a gallop in the Geelong Motor Sports Club Khanacross last Sunday (20th June)

For results and piccies, go to www.gmsc.com.au

Pooee was really giving it heaps!

And it doesn't show in the photos, but I've never had the Deluxe so sideways ever!

Great fun.

Cheers, Pottsy

fun :D

you should head up to Deni this weekend for their autocross on Saturday and VMC round on Sunday. I'm told their autocross track is sensational

I've ran Avalon a couple of times in the Moke and a few in the Corolla. It's great fun!

This is exactly what I bought the blue Clubman for. So much fun! The track is great, and there was a lot of grip last Sunday. I got quicker throughout the day, having never driven a Mini in this kind motorsport (just motorkhanas). The track does benefit power, which I have none of!

Autox is harder on your car than Motorkhanas.

After much soul-searching I decided I didn't want to damage my Moke autox-ing it. Also it didn't have enought power, and the autobox doesn't really work for autox.

Hence I bought the cheapo Corolla. I then stacked that through the tyre wall! The damage wasn't bad though, easily fixed, but I was glad I wasn't driving the Moke.

Now I have the MR2 to use, as soon as it's ready. :)

Simon. Unfortunately I'm busy this weekend, but I have run the autocross circuit at Deni, in the Citroen DS! (We used the track in the 2006 Round Australia run.)

Not sure who got the best value out of that run, me inside the car or those watching with their jaws on the ground!

It's a spectacular venue for drivers and spectators alike.

Cheers, Pottsy

Could not recommend an event like this enough!

Thats me in the black van, was a whole hoot and a holler. all the minis there went fantastic and it's always fun to beat some of the bigger boys at their own game (and maybe even have some friendly competition with my old man :P ).

Can't wait for the next one!

Cheers,
Steve

Exactly! I made a comment that it's a brilliant days fun for only $35, although I think entry for when they run it as an autocross will be a tiny bit more.

Come down and have a run meeni!

If anyone is thinking of going up to Deni this weekend - DON'T!!

The event has been postponed due to heavy rain.

Too bad if you have booked and paid for accommodation.

Cheers,
Watto.
