You can stand out - thats a womens priviledge.

The police will want to admire your car rather than search it for weapons, drug or defects as they do for other stand out cars commonly full of males and broadcasting Doof doof doofs.

I'd like my car to stand out, but I don't particularly like bright greens and purples - too obvious and done to death.. I like the traditional racing paint schemes...

britax cooper (yellow with black detail down side)
gulf racing (pale blue with orange stripe over top, and widening at front)
aston martin (almond green with fluorescent red accents!)

if, and when, I get to paint my deluxe, it's going to be almond green with fluorescent red bits.. grill surround, mirrors... to mimic this:

or maybe this

there's always requests for 'which colour should i paint my mini'... well if anyone wants the PSD file to play with colours, just send me your email address.

I'm considering turning it into a Mini Selecta, like the VW Bus Selecta.. when i can get my hands on flash in a months time

Definitely.....A curious thing that happens with colour is when you view it in a small area
like a chip or swatch, it will appear much darker than on a broader area.
As a general rule the bigger the area... the lighter the colour will appear.
So when looking at colours it helps to look at the same size cars.
Or if you are painting a wall, it helps to roll out a decent size area to access it properly.
With house paint you need to wait several days before the colour reaches full depth.....Oh hang on....this is a car forum  Forgive me....

I have a suggestion for the moderators but could we possibly have a sticky or a section that we can all post photos of cars that are genuine bmc/leyland colours. As there are no colour swatches available it would make a great resource for just such a question. It has to be one of the most asked questions on here. G.

yes, yes and yes - I've been meaning to do that for years - keep reminding me and it'll happen :)

And tag the picture with the dulux colour code and the formula

Now that would help me a great deal with my little project :D

MINIRO if you cant decide on the colour use a trick I have always done to help me. drop into your local paint auto paint supplier and ask for a sample mix. Spray it onto a magnetic "P" or"L" plate. Let it dry then you can place it on you car on different areas, ie side of the car looks different to on top of the guards. Roll it into the shade or into the sun. The curves on a mini do reflect light differently and give the paint different looks. Cheap way to make sure you dont waste thousands. G.

PS can someone PM me with a step by step guide on how to post a pic on here. Yes Yes yes I know there are posts on here on how to do it but I really am computer illiterate. Do I have to do that photobucket thing or can I attatch a jpeg??? That is why I have secretaries. I have something to show Yall.

l'n'b.. you really do have do that photobucket thing.. or imageshack.us....

i find imageshack.us easier, as you don't need an account... can just upload, copy the DIRECT LINK, and then place between [ img ] and [ /img] tags
