Can anyone tell me what the little green light at the top of the speedo is? More importantly, what does it mean when it won't go out!

never seen one of those lights come on!

to confirm what Matt said, have a look at the oil filter housing, if there is a wire going in to the top of it, unplug it and see if the light goes out

or ask Dr Mini - he might remember what Barney has

On a Moke, which uses the same speedo, the Green Light at the top is the (low) Oil Presure Light.

It could mean that the unused wire at the front of the engine has finally rubbed through the insulation and is earthing to the body or motor. 8)

I can't remember, but it's not an oil filter light, it has a spin-on now.
take the cover off the firewall (or pull the modified binnacle setup complete into the car, and see what colour wire it has)

Could it be the turn indicator? Thats what my MKI has, it's in parallel with the green light on the end of the indicator stalk. :)
