Howdy,
Does anyone know if the Uk factory Rover Spi wiring looms are diffrerent from the Jap Spec Rover Spi wiring looms. I am curious to know if the Uk Rover SPi looms had all the connections and plugs to fit aircon even know they didn't fit aircon in the uk unlike the jap spec rovers which had aircon fitted.

Looms are different.

The UK cars did not have provisions in looms for AC, catalytic converter fail and something else, similarly Jap cars that had AC didn't have a place for an internal clock, volts gauge, immobiliser, etc.

What is it that you want to do?

I have bought a complete jap spec Sti setup including all aircon parts, efi tank, wiring, sensors, manifolds ect ect ect.
I am installing the aircon into my clubby sedan and want to install all the efi stuff into my 850 van when the resto is ccompleted.
I didn't want to really chop up the Jap spec loom to get all the associated aircon connectors, plugs and stuff. I have a few uk spec Efi looms in storage but haven't taken the time to look at them. Now I am aware that they are completely different looms I'm probally better of locating another jap spec spi loom to be able to hack up

cheers

justin

The main thing is the year of the car. If you have 96 onwards the AC loom will be in with the rest, but early cars (92-94) may have had a separate loom for the AC stuff like the Jap carby cars.
