I think it is missing a plunger and spring.

And its not out of a mini, it could be out of a number of BMC cars, but not a mini.

Well, i contacted the seller and told him it wasn't for a mini and was broken. I sent it back and he refunded my moneys. :)

Are these new ones that seem to be for sale everywhere as good as, and the same as, the originals?

The one I got from the UK for my cooper is identical to the original and at least has a green light on the end of the stalk and works :D :D

I bought a new one for about $170. Car goes out a few times a months and now 6 months later it started not activating the right hand side blinker. Must have had out in pieces 3 times in the last month. Just cheap components - but I now know how to fix it at least.

LOL... The bloke selling it now knows it's not for a mini and that it's broken... yet he's relisted it anyway.

Okay, so i bought a repro indicator stalk with the green light. My local mini repairs place sold me the bits required to convert the horn from being on the end of the stalk to the centre of the steering wheel. I also got a second hand Morris steering column surround that i fixed some cracks in and repainted. It all looks swish and i've managed to make the indicators cancel as they're supposed to. :)

Anyhow... since i've got 0% of the original loom in my car i'm curious to know what the indicator stalk wires normally plug into. Coming from the new indicator stalk is a bunch of wires, each having an individual bullet terminal on the end. Does the factory loom have some kind of plug or is each wire plugged into a separate corresponding bullet socket?

The reason i ask is because the typical/standard bullet connectors that i have at home don't quite fit over these ones. Are they special? Where can i purchase these connectors so i don't have to cut them off and replace them with off-the-shelf items.

The factory loom just ends in individual bullets too and there's a red plastic six way socket thing (like 6 individual sockets arranged in a hexagon) that they all press into.

Right, so they're not individually insulated, they're just held apart from each other by this plastic hexagon?

Can this hexagon and sockets be purchased?

They're individually insulated and held together by the connector. It looks a bit like this one on ebay, but is red. I'm feeling a bit vague as to whether they definitely have six connectors now though.

I don't know if they are available new.

If they can be reused then i'm very interested. PM me some contact details and an address. Thanks for the offer.

edit: nevermind. The guy doing my wiring doesn't want to use a second hand plug. He's going to use a new plug and socket instead.
