Hi,

Can you still purchase cooper s pin drive oil pumps?

I have a fresh 1380 using a morris 1300 block with standard cooper cam

no, but various mini shops sell an adapter for spade drive pumps. You need to TIG weld it into the end for a Cooper S type camshaft

edit: pm Dr Mini, unless he pops up here

I had a lot of dramas finding one 24 months ago, I know there are a few legacy one sitting on shelves. (I think Northern Mini Parts have one behind glass with their pretty anodised bits nad bobs). I am unsure if someone has made a new batch however. I took the option of using a slot drive camshaft (I had my pindrive converted to slot when the cam was ground) and using an easily available slot drive pump.

and the great thing is, once you've done it, you can buy the Metro Turbo type high volume pump - they're good, and they're cheap

Std Metro 1275 slot drive pump has plenty of volume (unless you run a turbo)- my 1412 has 75psi, hot, from 1500rpm up.

With respect guys, these were un-available for a while, but you can get them again now. All drive configuration oils pumps are available in fact.

Ah, but can you get the original 1100S etc spider with the spline in, I doubt it. It's been NLA for years.
I don't trust old worn oil pump drive splines, I used to own a twincam Fiat...

Yep. I bought a (pin drive long shaft) Cooper S and spider drive oil pump (ahla 1100S spider / spline drive) Oil pumps about 3 weeks ago

And yes, they were brand new.

Minisport in SA are advertising this pump.
AEG410- Mini Cooper S oil pump (pin drive)

http://www.minisport.com.au/prod1766.htm

Not sure where it comes from?

I had a recent conversation with Andrew, I believe he has now got longer high tensile shafts made and converted these new (originally smallbore) pumps to Cooper S fitment.
Current smallbore pumps have the same rotor setup as the late lamented Cooper S AEG410 item.

Going back to the original question, yes chazg, you can buy NEW pin drive Cooper S Oil Pumps, Mini Sport (SA) have them (thanks michaleb) and APT also have Sureflow ones too.
