Hey guys

Does anybody know of an equivalent reputable belt for the Minispares Rotoslide Timing Belt Kit? The standard belt has 52R190 on it...

Years ago I tied my local Dayco belt agent and Repco for an equivalent but they did not have any. This was well over 10 years ago now. Perhaps some one has them now. But you do have the correct number there. Let me know if you find any one that has them. Try Minis Plus in Coldstream Victoria. Lindsay there will help you. Cheers and good luck.

The original Pirelli/Dayco belts are good but they stopped production.
Then someone started making belts in China (I found them too loose).
I got a couple of Kevlar competition ones from Mini Mania in USA. They cost me A$75 ea a few years ago, dearer now.

I've been told the Dayco ones are available again in UK, but not seen any.

If you know the pitch and tooth profile[ probably a HTD] and the width then there is a company in adelaide" RYDELL" at cavan that cuts them off a what ever width you want. They are all dayco belts including the kevlar and blue max kevlar high temp belts.
I get them for the t/c honda heads[120 tooth X 8mm pitch x 1" wide] and cost about $25 each for the blue max belts.

I suspect part of the problem finding alternatives is that they are so short (52 teeth total). Width is 19mm.

I did buy one of these belts from Karcraft a few months ago (for the MSC Rotoslide). It was a known brand (Dayco or Pirelli or Gates or Goodyear), but off hand I cannot remember which. It's on one of the cars ATM so I can't find out easily.

My 1412 is running an original Pirelli belt in the NOS Triger kit I bought recently on ausmini. I hope it's age won't hurt it...

Another company is P.I.E.S Australia. They are situated down here in Melbourne and do nothing but pulleys and belts, whatever the situation you have.

They link off their site to Mulco in Germany, there is a calculator you can use to enter known values of pulley size and spacing, load and belt velocity and the program will provide a graphical (and exportable report) solution which can be further tweaked. Its really useful if you have the pulley size, center to center distance and maximum velocity (all knowns) but there is a problem with the load...I have no idea what a mini consumes in frictional load through the drive train. Still.....a belt would cost less than 50 bucks once this is known.

I got mine through CBC Bearings in Bibra Lake, Perth. Gave them my old belt and they ordered it in, can't remember the brand, I'll have a look in the next couple of days..
