Hi just fitting new rings and am having trouble with oil ring they are 3 piece hastings ive not come across these before there is a spacer 1 ring and a 8 sided spacer i'm totally lost with how they go as the instructions on leaflet doesn't show how they fit any help appreciated

8 sided ring goes in first.
Then the spacer ring
Then you peel the 2 scraper rings on, working down from top of piston, 1 goes each side of the spacer ring.

thanks doc thats what i thought but only one scraper ring for each piston in the box there were 4 of each spacer and 4 scrapers 12 pieces total

Be sure that you don't accidentally over-lap the ends of the 8 sided ring

sounds wrong to me, isn't there a data sheet with pics in the box? If flat chromed scrapers, there should be 8 there.

youre right doc just went over to shed and checked the box and instructions on packet said 1 on top and 1 on the bottom! here's another wait for 4 more,i can't seem to take a trick latley :lol:

went back into parts shop today and explained what was missing and after a few calls to mainland supplier salesman was told that it wasn't the only set with 4 oil scraper rings instead of 8 :roll: packer must have had a bad day!!!! :oops: another set was sent this afternoon so i will have them tomorrow
