Use NGK CR9EK's, or Denso U27ETR's

it make the indexing much less critical.

I am liking that head. This may be enough for me to put an A series engine in my mini!! It was the cost of a cross flow head that pushed me towards engine conversion (with 5 speeds, ligher, 5 bearing crank, overhead cams.... ) in the first place.

I'd inject it and not get the Webers I reckon.

I remember enquiring about a X-flow head back in about 1985 and was quoted $2000 I only paid $1800 for my Cooper S in 1982
This whole setup is a real bargain, I just saw a weber and manifold on Ebay for $1000

Can anyone tell me if you can fit this head to a 1098 bottom end?

What size are the combustion chambers?

With the realative ease of manufacturing and machining short production items these days, it is a golden age for custom heads 8)

it'd be fine on a 1098, just need to pocket the block the same as for any 1275 head

combustion chambers would be same size as a 1275 too - 29cc?

1275 stock chambers are 21.4cc Simon.
These would be similar.

So, if a bloke was to get one of these, who would he send it to for the best work?

Say that bloke also had an Eaton M45 supercharger in his garage, would that change the work required to the head? (Maybe chamber volume for compression but any difference in ports or valve seats?

Just ordered my crossflow setup from same place. Tired of waiting for other alternatives. Looks like good value if you ask me. Inlet ports are plenty big enough, exhausts could do with some work and the guide bosses are a little large but in all should clean up well. Will let yall know how it goes. Thanks for the heads up (pun intended)

that bloke might have a fun time making the inlet manifold - the end result could look very funky :)

So is that 4 [Edit: 5] of us with these already?

TK
Sitnlo62
awdmoke
lownblown
mokesta

I can't wait, but I don't have a car or bottom end!

Of the other 4 guys, who's getting who to do the porting work? I have only ever used Liddels in Brisbane over 10 years ago. PM me if the forum rules prevent a completely honest reply here.

WTB: 1 1275 engine (head optional :) ) and rod change gearbox.

M
