You then would be best to roll the edge to off set joggle it by the thickness of the steel itself. Trial fit, adjust etc until you happy with the fit.

As you can see from Ryan's footer he owns one of the fairly rare ex-NSW Police 1971 MK II S's, the one with the burst-proof doors. I reckon the sun-roof was installed in his car by a previous owner partly as a way to cover up the hole in the middle of the roof where the two-way radio aerial was located. On one of my cars the hole was simply patched.

In my view, Ryan, if you want to preserve the car as a reasonably original ex-Police vehicle with the usual holes and SPO41 options (reversing lights, two-speed wipers, etc.) so as to maintain maximum resale value I would fit a replacement turret. If you aren't fussed about its history then you can ignore my suggestion.

I didn't notice that, so I've changed my mind, I'd do a turret cut through the pillars

But it's only one of them Cooper S's, they are a reasonable source of spares for our GTs (ducks for cover)

Yeah at TAFE they only ever called it a joddler.

Doc, you're a fitter yeah?

Mick the manual ones are a pain, most people can't get a decent clean step with them. But I "think" VG auto might sell them, if anyones going to keep them on the shelf it would be them.

Picky...picky....

I suspect in the fitting trade they call it a Joggler and in Panel Beating a Joddler. Same animal, different smell.....

Ok, it looks like it is known by both names... perhaps Joddler is a Pommie name?
