Dad and I went to a clearing sale today at Neerim, a place with not a lot around it I guess.

It was extremely busy and extremely muddy, and sitting amoungst it all was a 1965 Morris Mini Deluxe. I'd seen it advertised in the paper, so took my camera.

Although it looked a bit rough on the outside, I was amazed at how perfect the interior was! It was a one owner car at a deceased estate.

(obviously a bit muddy from people getting in)

(the rubber mats were in incredibly good condition)

an unusual (?) heater under the dash, driver's side

71,000 miles - original. The auctioneers said they think it probably only ever went from neerim to warragul, if you are familar with the area.

and I was extremely surprised to see the boot mat in as new condition!

I was also interested to find out that it was sold new by the same dealer as my original 850, but this one had a dealer sticker in the rear window. I might have to get a repro one day...

We spoke to the new owner, and thank goodness he was planning on keeping it in the same condition it is now (I don't like to see original cars modified) The owner didn't have any cars apart from daily drivers, and had decided he wanted a Mini and done his research. He should be proud to have such a fine Mini, and for $6500 he ought to be  (although 6.5k is actually a reasonable price for what it is)
He was from Newborough, so moemoke, keep an eye out!

Nice find, I did see it advertised in the Gazette but missed the sale.

I'll keep an eye out for it in Newb,
did the new owner have fair hair aged about 40ish, named Ron?
