Hi All,

Some may of seen this Cooper S on Ebay recently, i have negotiated with the owner after the auction did not meet the reserve.

I am trying to track the history of the car as i have been told it was used as a track car at Malalla.

any info would be great.

Has i little bit of rust, needs new front gaurds as the arches are wrong and rear tail lights fixed back to standard.

But yes it is a Cooper S!!

Now everyone knows why i have selling heaps of stuff off :-D

judging by the dings, the age, and those bad blue stripes no one would put back on the car, id say it might even be the original paint, or it was resprayed a very long time ago.

I would think the original colour was white if anything, that is what the engine bay is.

The Car was originally toga white with a burgundy roof.....

My favorite Colour!!! As it comes with the red interior. :-D

I got a great suprise when taking off the black seat covers, the Ruby red seats underneath are immacultate. pitty the rest of the trim has been painted black.

Went through the shed and i have every door card in red apart from the driver :-S

will have to put an add in the wanted.

Yep the tail light will be changed and a differant boot lid.

The wife has already named her Ruby, which is half the battle getting the wife to like a car but when she names it you know it's going to be an easy job spennding money getting up 2 scratch.

The car does look rough but on close inspection it really is un molested.

Michael

Hi Michael

It does look like a good start. I am a bit confused though, none of the seats look anything like red to me

Any chance you will have some good rear cards left over :?: I need a pair  :D

Cheers
Steve

Looks like its had a hard life, but its still an S and worse ones have come back to life.

I think I have a set of red door cards in dads shed, but they may be in poor condition from memory. I was saving them as patterns, Will have a look next time I'm at my parents.

They are genuine Paddy Hopkirk seat covers, quite rare & valuable.

How did they do that boot lid? Bogged or did they actually weld a section in?
