Is there a good reason for this inlet/exhaust flow rate comparison to be so skewed?

Ok so Ive had my 7 port (pierce) for a few months. It is getting ported ATM. Porter has tested it on his flow bench. Inlets flow 61cfm at 400' lift standard. Exhaust flows 31cfm at 400' lift standard. After he has taken out the seats and guides and reshaped them along with the exhaust ports it flows 45cfm @ 400'lift. I have no idea what other heads do , and it is probably like dyno figures in terms of variation between operators and machines. But the exhaust is now flowing 73% of the inlet which is a great improvement from 50.3 % standard. Well done to him!

Cheers.

Those numbers do sound low, I wonder what pressure is he using? 10" maybe, not 25"?

My stroker's 12G1316 head, the S inlets flowed 116CFM on GR's flowbench.
Stock these flow around 90.

Noice.

Pulled the valves out for a closer look. They definitely need some cleaning work. Ports are plenty big enough. Much to do around the back of the valves and guides. Chambers could do with some work too, and the valves could be bigger, but hey, not bad for the money and a good starting point.

I'm not an expert on engine builds so can't comment on Low & Blown thoughts on all of the work that needs to be done on these heads. Sorry if I mislead anyone.
Looks better than a five port. I was happy.
I do know value for money though.
Enough from me for a while........................................

sounds like buying the head and spending $500 on a port job still makes it a very cheap crossflow head :!:

Dont get me wrong TK, very happy with the head, still good value esp with the carbys. I see it as getting a good start on what can potentially be a very good thing :D

Crikey big fella you have some inspiration. You never cease to amaze me but shouldnt you finish/fine tune/develop the twinky kits and market them before moving onto another project? You have a good product with them, and something sure to be profitable for you. Focus Matt, focus.
