Hi,

Does anyone know what the cost is of converting a smiths tacho so that it will run correctly with an electronic distributor and where l can get this done, hopefully in Brisbane?

Not sure of cost but you could try Lionel Otto Instruments

If you can't get it done in Brisbane, I can highly recommend Howard Instruments in Melbourne -- no trouble to post the tacho there and back. From memory the conversion is around $200.

I second the Howard Instruments recommendation. Roger is a proud mini racer and will look after you and postage wouldn't be much. I got mine done and it is great with my 123 and you can still put it back onto a standard dizzy later.

I had a quote from Olympic Instruments for $120 for the new module. They were in sydney, but are not where they were (near Mona Vale rd on the Pacific Traffic Jam Rd). There's a company out of Burleigh heads by the same name and selling instruments, but I don't know if they are the same.

Hmm I dunno, $120 for an electronic conversion to a 10, 20, 30yr old tacho. $180 delivered for a brand new one (excluding bling pod)...
