Well, the wet season has finally started (we get more rain than Melbourne, it's just that we have a season called SUMMER) and there are more minis for sale this week than in the last 6 months.

There's even a hot deseamed one for $4500.... oh I wish

They mustn't be true believers - they're not that unreliable in the wet!

They are fine once you have an adequate condom over the distributer!

I was rather impressed with mine I went through lots of water that would just about cover his little size ten wheels and there was no problem and there is no rubber glove over the distributer or anything.

I just keep getting the battery terminals coming loose and it won't start.
Oh and the clubman dash wiring is a PITA always gets wierd electrical things happening :?

unfortunately I have found they sweat and eventually give trouble  , better off with abstinance ... er just use the deflector shield from the clubby. All you need do is stop water from directly hitting the dizzy cap and being driven inside through the gaps...

Yeh Perths weather is a bit weird at the moment? Hard to believe it was 43 last wednesday and yesterday and today it was only 19 and Wet? Gotta fix that quarter window seal now before I have a sweimming pool in Candy!

Makes driving Candy interesting now though, since the carby and exhaust work I'm struggling for traction in 1st, 2nd and occasionally 3rd.... :D Only gotta remember to slow down through those roundabouts cause I have the same traction problem on the rear as well.

Ciao Ray.

Regarding wet ignitions in minis. I used to navigate in one and often had water over the bonnet and it never stopped.

1 keep it spotless

2 keep leads in good condition. Replace them if they are old

3 there was a product in an areosol container which was a sealer. Just spray it on all the spotlessly clean leads, cap, coil etc. I think it was made by CRC, though not positive

4 Put sealant around where the cap sits. I think it may be possible to machine the body and put an o'ring in where the cap sits.

We never ever stopped because of water and I've seen it up to the base of the screen.
