there is always Gareth's van...

took a rusted POS and built something awesome and perfect, only for it to burn.

I had a rover which was the most perfect car i have ever owned and that unfortunately too burned to the ground.

I think while your car still needs stuff being done, it means it wont burn.

im jinxed too i swear, i pull out of meeting tonite, and as im turning onto the main stretch of road home, knock knock knock, like a cv joint, but they are new.

Im so tempted to pull the motor out again now that i have a garage.

i pushed it a little harder when i got close to home and it didnt make any noises. Went to u turn back up the road and knock knock knock from first into second. God i hope its not in the motor. It looked clean when it was out few weeks back.

also have a feeling the head is cracked after my major overheating in SA last year.

Well my mechanic called me today with all of the details.

- Brake master cylinder is stuffed so will be replaced
- CV boot needs replacing
- Handbrake cable needs replacing (i knew that one but was putting it off)
- The rear shifter bracket needs fixing. (welded)

I'm so glad I took it to him because I had checked all the CV's not long ago and probably wouldn't have looked at them again for a couple of weeks.

The thing that I really love about my mechanic (besides him knowing minis inside out) is that he always calls to explain what needs doing before he does it, lists all the options for repair etc and then does it. Hopefully this will be the end of the problems for a while.
