Plus my dad knows how to drive really well. And they were fully worked

so a fully worked cooper s couldnt keep up with an 1100 with a cooper head and and twin carbs?

yea if you can afford one go a bigblock, if you cant then you can still have lots of fun with a tickled smallblock, either way i think minis are all about handling and for that, even an 850 will put a smile on your face.

it will do 90mph and is alot of fun to drive do yu really need any more than that?

see, this is what I mean! no-one needs to do more than travel at the speed limit...

if my 1275 has the same amount of work done to it as someone elses 1100, my 1275 is going to be faster, isn't it...

it's like they say, size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that counts - well I say what if I've got a big one and I'm good at using it ? they're not going choose a well used small one over a well used big one. Simple

"... even an 850 will put a smile on your face"

And how far have you driven an 850. After 2000 km (in a couple of days) the thrill wears off :)

As the Yanks say.. there aint no substitute for cubic inches....

Anything you can do with a small motor you can do with the big one - to better effect.

Cheers, Ian

As somebody once said- "a good big'n will always beat a good little'n..."

My 1412 stroker is way more street drivable than my 1360 was (even though peak HP is less).

I'm not after some undrivable lumpy thing that needs to be revved to hell to keep it going. Basically I want easy driving, good torque and reasonable power.

Look forward to opinions...

the way i see it is that this guy "DOES`NT" want a race mini

hence why i said go big, but keep it mild

soooooo,,,,, i don`t how many of you have driven "BIG" mini engines but that`s the way to get exactly what the man asked

keep the cam mild & the comp ratio down to suit pump fuel with no detonation, give it some good head (cause BIG motors have BIG lungs & Bob`s your Aunty

:-)

no Jousting from me,,, just simple facts

I'm talking changing lanes here, under power in a straight line, dry road...
I wasn't driving, just packing death in the suicide seat.
